NEW Computer Delivered IELTS Exam.

NEW Computer Delivered IELTS Exam.

BOOK YOUR IELTS CDI Exam IN NZ

The main purpose of the Computer Delivered IELTS is to facilitate the candidates who are much familiar in typing rather than writing. If your typing skill is faster than writing then the most efficient way to score points is by sitting for computer base test.

There are many pros and cons on computer base IELTS. It is way easier to give answers if the typing speed is good. Screens provided for the exam are a good size which facilitates reading more easily. Candidates will have more space to do the exam more freely as very few candidates will be given chance to sit for the exam at a time. Results will be delivered within five days. There are more slots available for Computer Delivered IELTS than the paper-based IELTS. Even after all these advantages of IELTS, if you are not very good at typing it is much more preferable to sit for the paper-based exam. Further, the candidate will not get any chance to do last minutes changes as the screen gets automatically locked at the end of the specific time mentioned for the test. Candidates will not know when the screen will get locked as the last minute of the exam will not be displayed in seconds.

It is advisable to practice online sample test for computer base test before trying the final exam. There are many advantages and disadvantages of computer base listening exam. Though the candidates are privileged to highlight on the text the candidate needs to type the answer as he or she listens to the audio for the test. It is challenging as some questions require dragging words from one place to another whereas some require typing an answer and some to tick the correct box. Hence, the candidate needs to be familiar with the computer base listening questions. Furthermore, the candidate is given only 2 minutes to check answers as well he/she needs to know thoroughly to move from one section to another in order to save valuable time. To move from one part to another candidate must use the ‘Tab’ key. The candidate needs to be aware that there is an example of conversation played at the beginning of the test. It is advisable for students to get familiar with each type of questions along with the page look and feel on the CBT exam.

On writing test, candidates don’t need to count the words as the computer does it for them. It is much easier to edit writing as students can cut, copy and paste. Further, it is much difficult to identify spelling mistakes by proofreading as we tend to make mistakes when typing. Since many students will be typing for an hour, it would be noisier while some may find it disturbing to do an exam. The candidate should have adequate speed in typing. The students will be facilitated with a pen and paper to plan your writing.

Speaking test will be face to face interaction with the examiner.

The IELTS computer base listening test gives 2 minutes to check the answers at the end of the paper as the candidate types the answers on the computer where as in the paper base listening test the candidate is given 10 minutes to check the answer at the end of the paper. Other than this difference in the listening test, every other aspect of IELTS reading, writing, speaking exams remains the same.
